Brendan wrenching away. We were all ready to go home at this point. Sometime early in the morning.
A nice view of the final installation. This is before we built the piping.
Notice how much more clearance there is at the manifold. One thing I didn't show, however, was how close the bottom of the compressor was to the motor mount bracket on the side of the motor. If the compressor were any bigger, this would have to be trimmed to fit.
I went crazy with pipe bends and grommets just to get this thing on the road. Later on we will make a one piece hot pipe and possibly a better intake.
There's a very sharp 90 degree bend off the compressor. This was kinda tricky. I used stock S13 intercooler piping and flex hoses as grommets.
Thats a Trust solid cast aluminum 90 degree 70mm bend coming off the compressor inlet. We met this with an 80mm aluminum intake pipe. (and a crappy 70-80mm adapter we made)
Tightening the grommets.
All done. Where'd that big turbo go??
There it is on the night vision! Without a close inspection, someone might think this was stock.
Here you can see where I forgot one hose clamp. Its supposed to be on the right end of the right flex hose. OOPS! It blew off on the way home.
Outside in the morning... cleaning up our big mess.
Hello, Mr. Sun. It's bedtime. 6:00 in the morning. Sunrise out at the shop.
