Our lovely assistants are Rob and Brett The Tranny Pulla is a 1 meter (3 foot) extension with a swivel head. The rounded head allows the socket to swivel but applies much more force than a universal. Here you can see the extension reaches the upper tranny bolts without difficulty. This allows you to use a large wratchet or breaker bar at the tail of the tranny. (much easier than busting your knuckles with a wratchet against the firewall) Now we're pulling the stock flywheel. The clutch was already removed. You need a "12 point" 14mm socket for this. An Impact gun makes this much easier. If you can't loosen them without spinning the flywheel, have someone hold it or you can use a 27mm socket and breaker bar on the crank pulley. Here's the back end of the engine without the flywheel Note the large metal gasket/spacer needs to be reinstalled before the new flywheel. |
